As regular readers know, I have zero faith in the idea that there is a Parliamentary Road by which to ‘save Britain’, ‘Restore Britain’ or even merely to ‘Reform UK’. The underlying issues of the demographic winter, mass immigration, deindustrialisation, fiat money and loss of faith are simply too deadly a combination for a senile society to survive. I have, however, no doubt that the indigenous peoples of the British Isles - and those of the rest of Europe and the ‘white world’ will survive. And I have no doubt that intelligent and energetic work by nationalists and traditionalists can help more of our kind survive, and help them to preserve and pass on the most important parts of our heritage, in all its forms. I’ve absolutely no time for those peddling either snake oil or black pills. My interest in Reform and Restore - the two imperfect but still striking current products of growing indigenous anger and resistance - does not extend to not how they fare in this Thursday’s Makerfield by-election. Dramatic though the tussle is, and however unpleasant rule by Andy Burnham and an ultra-leftist coalition is in due course likely to be, none of it makes any real long-term difference.

That being the case, the quicker that more of their people come to understand that the parliamentary process has past its sell-by date for real change, and is now part of the control mechanism of managed decline, the better. Hence, I’m going to give the campaign managers of both parties a tip. Not because I really care whether they take it up or not, but because the sooner their people stop excusing lower-than-expected votes by taking up the old cry of electoral fraud, the quicker some of them will start to do seriously useful long-term work. So, if there is going to be electoral fraud by the Labour Party (and it’s entirely possible, I’ve seen it done often enough in various ways) then the most likely way in this election would be to tamper with ballot boxes as they are taken - in the cars of left-wing civil servants involved in the mechanics of the day - from the polling stations to the count.

While it is true that the boxes are all sealed by the presiding officer in each polling station, both at the opening of polls and when voting ends, this does not secure the boxes against tampering during transit. The officials involved have supplies of identical council-supplied seals. They can, if they want, cut off the old seals, add or take away ballot papers, and then apply new ones. The only way to guarantee that this cannot happen is to take advantage of Rule 41 (1) and Rule 43 of the Parliamentary Elections Rules, Schedule 1 RPA 1983. These allow monitoring activists of an individual party to fix their own seals to the empty ballot boxes at the opening of polls and to seal them shut at the close. This little known, and even less used, right is what prevented in the 2009 European Elections a repeat of the fraud which denied me a seat in the 2004 contest. Both Reform and Restore should do it on Thursday. Reform to increase their chance of winning, Restore to help their members understand why their vote is liable to be significantly smaller than they expect. The real reason will not be fraud, but the fact that many voters will understand that a vote for Restore rather than Reform is liable to hand the seat to Labour.

Understanding that it’s the “wasted vote” argument that’s the killer, is vital if Restore activists are to move from turning up in droves during an election to turning out in good numbers in the years and months between elections, sinking real community roots and helping to build community organisations. That’s what we need to see, not because it will help them win seats as the ship sinks, but because, in doing so, they will build lifeboats. And its lifeboats that our people need, because there are a lot of sharks out there, and the water of minority status is going to be bloody cold.
