Israel doesn't 'control' Trump or the US any more than Jews control world banks or the media. STOP pushing dangerous antisemitic tropes

‘Trump let Bibi drag him into Iran.’

I realize this is a single sentence but I’m so damn tired of the deeply misleading simplicity with which it is routinely written over and over. And I’m not going to link to the specific article this time inasmuch as this nonsense has become standardized across media and social media while pushing - deliberately or not - dangerous antisemitic tropes.

That Netanyahu pushed Trump into Iran is not because the US is under the control of Israel, AIPAC or other connected entities. The primary reason is that Trump is a fool who’s misspent life has been to get a quick score off of others promising him success.

And it is more than a mistaken or misleading statement but is extending antisemitic tropes which go back across many centuries which are now particularly popular among modern antisemites and anti-Israel zealots. And, no, I’m not accusing all who continue to repeat this canard as either violent or, necessarily, being directly antisemitic…though too many, in fact, certainly are.

Those who aren’t, however, need to think before they write or speak.

But whether with direct intent or not, this repeated and false claim has helped surge violent antisemitism in the West from the US to the UK, Australia…and further. And such ‘help’ is certainly not needed.

From the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, to Bondi Beach in Australia and Michigan; where another indoctrinate - I think this one was connected to Lebanon - literally drove his car into a large synagogue during the day where 100+ children were present.

He had his car in the school hallway with guns and explosives and a clear intent to push a mass murder of preschoolers. Fortunately, his car didn’t operate as he’d expected in a school hallway and the synagogue had armed guards who confronted and stopped him.

So very thank full the synagogue employed highly competent armed guards. It is so very tragic that the synagogue HAS to employ full time armed guards

Last year, a single antisemitic, anti-Israel sociopath broke into the Jewish Governor of Pennsylvania’s Governor Mansion with the governor, Josh Shapiro, and his family already in bed following the first Passover Seder.

Cody Balmer set fire to the lower floor and escaped turning himself in about 13 hours later. Fortunately, the governor’s protection detail from the Pennsylvania State Police intervened as the Governor, his family and at least a couple of guests in bed upstairs were able to escape unharmed.

Balmer was asked in a police interview what he would have done if he had come face to face with Shapiro. He told police he would have beaten the governor with a hammer, according to an affidavit.

First is to mention that I also follow Ukraine and Russia very closely and have been extremely pleased by Zelenskyy’s and Ukrainian resurgence which has brought at least some of Putin’s hell back to him and into Russia.

But the outcome that most terrifies Putin is for his end to look like the one met by Mussolini. If that happens, Putin will have earned it many times over from Georgia to Syria and now definitely Ukraine

But few of those so unilaterally focused on Israel offer even an aside about Putin’s attempt to slaughter the Ukrainian population - which is/would be a cultural and human genocide. All we get are self-aggrandizing pivots back to Israel. Ukraine’s increasing success has also helped peel Trump away from Putin because Trump’s only interest is Trump and the perception of winning.

Netanyahu is well aware and sold Trump what he claimed would be a quick win. It’s not Israel that controls Trump. Instead, it is the words in his head helped by his primary US sponsors to include evangelicals and Christian Zionists (about whom I’ve written more elsewhere) whose ‘love’ of Israel does not ultimately include Jews or Israel as a Jewish state.

What helps drive Trump is his lifelong effort to jump on an already successful bandwagon then take primary credit. That happened in Israel’s 12 day war with Iran. Israel did the hard stuff with tremendous success. Trump sent USAF bombers with bunker busting bombs for a couple of hours then took full credit.

Remember how Trump then said Iran’s nuclear program had been ‘obliterated’ which wasn’t quite accurate? But since Trump’s current poorly thought-out war with Iran hasn’t worked out as planned, Trump is well into selling out Israel and Netanyahu to then claim his skewed perception of a ‘win.’

I can only hope that for the coming election, Israelis will finally and fully recognize that Netanyahu cannot ‘protect’ them and most be voted out of office to face full accountability

This, even though winning is about the last thing Trump is ever able to accomplish in any venue other than, perhaps, with America’s deeply corrupt fundamentalist Supreme Court.

The constant refrain about how Netanyahu somehow tricked and otherwise brought in an unwitting Trump to his war in Iran is absurd. And Israel’s supposedly total control over American politics is even more so (despite AIPAC)

It’s important to recognize that Iran is a regional and international evil. It is a terror state who slaughters their own as easily as they push for the annihilation and a true genocide of Israeli Jews - and Jews anywhere else they can find us.

Iran sponsors Hamas who unleashed the October 7th massacre and extreme sexual violence in southern Israel. Iran is an occupying power in Lebanon via Hezbollah. Unfortunately, the mistaken focus by so many on Israel’s magic powers over the US constantly forgets to even make a passing reference to these horrific and deeply traumatizing realities with a priority on the October 7 Hamas terrorist massacre.

Netanyahu has screamed about Iran for at least 20 years. Much of what he says has an accuracy to it even though he’s constantly way oversold Iran’s nuclear program. That program is real and potentially deadly but it’s never been as imminent as Bibi claims or Trump has even more recently. Netanyahu has been attempting to get multiple presidents to assist him in attacking Iran across those same decades. But each and every one, remarkably to include W Bush, easily told him to push off.

I'm not even certain Trump could quickly find Israel on the map. That Netanyahu evidently sold him what he claimed would be a quick success got Trump to participate. That is far less Netanyahu pushing Trump than the reality that Trump is a cognitively deteriorating as he still looks for a quick score.

Trump’s primary sponsors focused on the Middle East are American evangelicals and Christian Zionists. Trump is absolutely and positively no friend of Israel but does performance politics effectively... or has been able to, anyway. Multiple presidents were not successfully pressured by Netanyahu and Netanyahu didn’t ‘pressure’ Trump but claimed he had the receipts. But there’s something else that is also almost never mentioned. That is a long-standing reality that America’s neocons have been wanting to attack Iran full force and up front probably since the Iranian embassy hostage crisis in 1979. John Bolton, in fact, tried to convince W Bush when he worked in W’s White House to launch a full out assault on Iran. Even W, who was not known for his intellect and remains an unindicted war criminal himself, was smarter than that and smarter than Trump.

The reality on the ground needs to be better identified and Israel not made the constant boogeyman. Netanyahu and his Jewish supremacist coalition are probably guilty of war crimes and absolutely must be held accountable. Netanyahu must also be held accountable for the series of events to which he is connected that helped lead to the Hamas terrorist massacre and extreme sexual violence on October 7th.

Another reality is that Netanyahu is not Israel any more than Trump is America. The constant drum beat that Netanyahu misled and pushed Trump into the war in Iran is, first, wrong. And Trump was warned by his own advisors, for instance, that Hormuz would be closed down but ignored all.

But the overly simplistic repetition of Netanyahu and Israel’s supposed direct influence over Trump continues to play into, if not always in a direct line, violent anti-Semitism, anti-Israel hate and extremes of violence against the Jewish diaspora, both in Europe and the US.

This mistaken perception of Israel’s outsized power over the US is driven by the constant nonsense that somehow America would have never bothered with Iran except for Netanyahu. The reality is that America has also been looking for an excuse to go into Iran for decades.

Then Trump happened along…
