Пересказ: Netanyahu's Terror of Accountability

Netanyahu's terror of an impartial state commission of inquiry for 10/7 betrays his complicity as Hamas rebuilds and rearms

IDF said to give Netanyahu document outlining how Hamas is rebuilding in Gaza
“Hamas is taking steps on the ground intended to preserve its influence and grip on the Gaza Strip from below. This is being done by integrating its operatives into government ministries and the security apparatuses,” the report cited the document as saying.
“Looking ahead: In the absence of Hamas’s disarmament, and under the auspices of the technocratic committee, Hamas will, in our assessment, succeed in maintaining influence and control in the Gaza Strip,” the document added, according to the report.
Hamas will not relinquish authority over the Gaza Strip. Hamas will not - ever - disarm voluntarily nor will it allow or accept a ‘demilitarized’ Gaza. Hamas is nowhere near ‘annihilated’ but rebuilding, rearming and getting stronger after being ‘gifted’ back about half of Gaza by Trump as the IDF withdrew. I’d offer this was more a potential set up to allow Netanyahu an excuse to restart the Israeli Right’s full out assault on Gaza towards Kushner and Trump’s ‘Gaza Rivera.’
That means over 2 years of obliterating Gaza to include the deaths of many thousands of Israeli civilians and military with so many more tens of thousands of Gazan civilians did not serve any of the stated strategies or meet any of the claimed objectives. Netanyahu failed yet remains in office.
Qatar has been a primary financial supporter of Hamas, providing an estimated $1.8 billion to the Gaza Strip since 2012, often with Israeli approval. Netanyahu watched passively as Hamas grew stronger and more organized. And though he thought he had it all figured out by pushing the bloody internecine war between Hamas and the PA, he walked straight into Hamas’ trap.
Hamas is not interested in Palestinian rights or independence and will push its genocidal fight with Israel to the last surviving Palestinian. Yet global opprobrium continues to give Hamas a pass while remaining focused only on Israel.

What started as a just war following the medieval, barbaric, and genocidal Hamas attack on Southern Israel on 10/7 which included extreme sexual violence and the taking of hostages from the very young to seniors, quickly deteriorated into a wish list for Netanyahu’s extremist coalition partners who’ve long resented losing twenty one settlements and IDF cover in Gaza in 2005. Only Netanyahu and his Faustian coalition could have lost global empathy from that horrific day so quickly.
I’m deeply grateful all the hostages have been released and the deceased returned. I would argue, however, that Hamas probably started to see them as a dramatic liability; a drain on their resources and reduced manpower and were happy to go along with Trump’s delusion of competence. I also have to wonder of Trump’s real estate operatives in Kushner and Witkoff had let Hamas know that in doing so, it would have have half of Gaza returned to it without an immediate demand to disarm.
PM portrays security chiefs, political rivals as opposed to toppling Hamas in publicized response to comptroller’s Oct. 7 probe
Netanyahu told State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman that he examined the possibility of conquering the Gaza Strip many times in the years before the October 7, 2023, attacks, but the security establishment repeatedly shot it down, arguing that it would take a long, costly war without domestic or international legitimacy, and that there was no governing alternative to Hamas ready.
So long as Netanyahu is allowed to remain as PM, an impartial inquiry will never happen. Just as Trump’s hysterical response to the Epstein Files betrays his guilt so, too, does Netanyahu’s terrified and unequivocal rejection of an impartial inquiry into 10/7. Instead, Netanyahu rushes to blame everybody - but himself. While Netanyahu demands ‘accountability’ from everybody - but himself.
Curiously, what Netanyahu said he was told by the ‘security establishment’ as quoted above turned out to be horrifically accurate to the point of prescience. It is also opposite of any coherent claim that his ‘rivals’ were against ‘toppling Hamas’ when the true opposition was from Netanyahu. And Netanyahu couldn’t ‘reconquer’ Gaza while letting Qatar feed Hamas approximately $30 million per month starting in 2018.
Netanyahu and his cohort are happy to go along with Trump’s ‘Gaza Riviera’ concept since it also could represent US sanctioned removal of a large number of Gazan citizens except, perhaps, as service workers in the new and envisioned resort properties and hotels.

In the meantime, Hamas will continue to brutalize and reassert itself in the 50% of Gaza it controls. Remember that Trump also thought it a good idea and of personal benefit to force the then Afghan government to release 5,000 Islamist prisoners and the Pakistani government to release the Taliban’s second in command.
It was a desperate attempt to claim a foreign policy ‘victory’ prior to the 2020 election which not only failed for Trump but doomed Afghanistan and, especially, its women and girls. But for Trump, it was all about him. When it failed, as Trump’s planning most often does, he left it for Biden and went to his next catastrophe. Trump is far more a ‘friend of the Taliban’ than he is to Israel.
Hamas will continue to attack Israel and the IDF. All of this, while Netanyahu will do little more than protect his hold on the PM office as Israel’s hard Right, lead by Smotrich and Ben Gvir, continue their reign of terror in the West Bank and intent to resettle Gaza.
As I’ve written many times, Netanyahu and his Jewish Supremacist coalition are the biggest threat to Israel’s current security and future stability then Iran, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas combined. Netanyahu must be removed from office and new elections held
