A teacher helped change everything.

 Teachers are now being attacked, maligned and incited against by the White House and hard Right activists. Teachers are being ludicrously accused of sending children for gender surgery during the school day or ‘making’ kids trans which is, of course, preposterous.

 Teachers can be fired for uttering the ‘wrong’ word or letting children read the ‘wrong’ book for school. Teachers are being accused of ‘grooming’ children for pedophiles even though it is MAGA supporters, MAGA operatives, MAGA clergy and the lead MAGA, Trump, who are the true pedophile ‘cabal.’ It is MAGA followers, operatives and clergy who are being regularly arrested for pedophelia. 

 A teacher ‘saw something’ in Eartha Kitt. And, damn, was that teacher spot on. 

Teachers give a damn. Teachers die protecting their students from mass school shootings. In Uvalde, teachers and their third and forth grade students died together as multiple police officers wandered around the school hallway chatting and using water fountains but afraid to take any action as children, and teachers, died just a few feet away.

 One police officer, whose wife was among those teachers, was ready to enter classrooms but was disarmed by his colleagues and sent away. It was recorded by school hallway cameras. 

 Teachers died as their terrified, bleeding and dying elementary age students desperately called 911 talking in whispers from under desks begging for help as the bodies of their friends lay next to them.

 Teachers make a difference. It is teachers who give a damn often working under difficult and stressful conditions. And, for about every single one, their students come first. Always. 

 Public schools must be supported as grotesque lies and disinformation spewed by Christian Nationalists make teachers easy targets. This, as the Right does their best to shut down public schools and control curriculum, especially targeting urban public schools, in order to transfer that money to their friends and preferred parochial schools.

 ‘School choice’ is a long time fraud which has always and only been about this vile hard Right agenda and defunding public schools. It has never had a thing to do with children, families, teachers or schools. 

 It’s time to give the same damn about teachers and schools as teachers give about their students. Strengthen and improve public schools by helping them keep their funding and resources.
