The Comfort of a Single Hue Источник: https://barbaraoneal.substack.com/p/the-comfort-of-a-single-hue ============================================================ My hand is still healing and typing gets uncomfortable fast, so I’ve been collaging as a way to keep my mind in motion. Yesterday I realized that everything I touch lately seems to want orange. The rug I brought home from Morocco is orange and blue. The paint samples on my kitchen walls are a terracotta and an orangey pink—little tests to see if they can bring some joy into that gray winter room. Even the collages glow with orange. It’s such an optimistic color, full of light and warmth. A counterweight to the gray sea and pale skies outside my windows—both of which I love—yet a reminder that a little variation in value can brighten the whole composition of a day. Forgive the brevity; my hand has reached its limit. But tell me: what’s your color of the moment? Does it shift with the seasons, or do you stay loyal to one hue?
